How To Apply For Service on the Continuing Care Advisory Committee
Committee members are appointed by the Governor, the Senate Rules Committee, the Speaker of the Assembly, and other members of the Committee based on their experience and expertise in the continuing care industry. Each member serves a two year term, until reappointed, or until a successor is named.
The Governor appoints the following representatives in even years:
- A non-profit multi-facility continuing care provider
- A senior citizen who resides in a continuing care retirement community
- A certified public accountant
- A for-profit continuing care provider
- An actuary
- If you would like to apply to serve on the committee as one of the above representatives, you may complete an application online .
The Senate Rules Committee appoints the following representatives in odd years:
- A non-profit continuing care provider
- A senior citizen who resides in a continuing care retirement community, (a community other than the representative appointed by the Governor or the Senate Rules Committee)
- To apply to serve on the Committee as one of these representatives, you may contact: Chairman, Senate Rules Committee, State Capitol, Sacramento, California 95814.
The Speaker of the Assembly appoints the following representatives in odd years:
- A non-profit continuing care provider
- A senior citizen who residents in a continuing care retirement community (a community other than the representative appointed by the Governor or the Senate Rules Committee)
- To apply to serve on the Committee as one of these representatives, you may contact: Speaker of the Assembly, State Capitol, Sacramento, California 95814.
Resident representatives of the Committee make the following appointment:
- A continuing care retirement community resident
- To apply to serve on the Committee as this representative contact the resident representatives on the Committee. A list of Committee members can be found under the Advisory Committee tab on this website's homepage.
Non-profit and for-profit provider representatives on the Committee make the following appointment:
- A non-profit or for-profit continuing care provider
